California Wild Rice Industry Sponsors Recipe Rumble
Fair Oaks, CA — California Wild Rice Recipe Rumble, a recipe contest featuring wild rice and wild rice blends, is open to culinary professionals residing in California and Nevada.
The contest sponsor is the California Wild Rice Advisory Board (CWRAB). Entry forms, rules and frequently asked questions are available online at www.cawildrice.com.
A professional, as defined for this contest, is anyone who receives compensation as a result of cooking for the public. Chefs, chefs-in-training, caterers, home economists, test kitchen professionals, dietitians, food stylists, food photographers, food writers and bloggers are eligible.
The goal is to spur the imagination of California and Nevada culinary professionals by challenging them to present compelling, original ways of serving wild rice and wild rice blends in restaurants, within catering operations and in other foodservice settings.
“West Coast chefs are leaders in sparking new food trends. We’re seeking to tap into their creativity to uncover innovative uses for wild rice and blends in starters, salads and side dishes,” concluded Klose.
The contest closes February 28. Winners will be notified by March 31, 2010.
In addition to cash awards for the best recipes in each category, photography enthusiasts may submit photos of their recipe entries for a chance to win cash and prizes. Photo contestants must enter their images through the social photography site, Flickr in the Wild Rice Rumble group.
